It was close to my eldest son Peter’s birthday and it was arranged for us all to go to Sandown Airport here on the Isle of Wight for a family lunch, I was asked to bring my cameras as there was going to be some special planes about, or so I was told. My birthday was also due in a week so my son gave me a birthday card, it contained a ticket to go up in the plane with only a few minutes to think about it! Not being able to get out of it we climbed aboard! The flight was much better than I expected and we were back down after a short flight of 15 minutes going over Arreton, East Cowes, Ryde, & Bembridge flying at 120 MPH. |
