Walk the Wight, 14th May 2006 for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

Setting off from

Bembridge at 7 am.

On  arrival at the  Carisbrooke  checkpoint at 10.47  we were greeted by these pipers.

We crossed the finish line at Alum Bay 16.10

We had again started out intending to do only half the walk & finish at Carisbrooke, but then decided to go the whole way again, around twenty seven miles!

Total time nine hours ten minutes with no breaks longer than a few minutes because we were afraid of freezing up!

We managed to knock 45 minutes off last years time.

Many thanks to all who sponsored me I have raised around 140 pounds for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice so far this year.

Approaching Arreton.

A busy check point &

 watering stop

At Arreton Barns.

Walk the Wight, 13th May 2007 for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

Very wet & windy this year as my other son Kevin & his son Sam along with my other grandson Simon started the half walk from Carisbrooke to Alum Bay, around 14 miles.

Due to the bad weather I never took my camera, so no new pictures.

Are time taken was just over five hours, all I have to do now is collect in the sponsorship.
